Old Dame School is a delightful holiday cottage situated in the heart of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales offers everything you can imagine in comfort and facilities.  Overlooking the historic Bainbridge village green, Old Dame School is only 10 minutes drive from the quaint market town of Hawes with its world renowned Wensleydale Creamery.  Bainbridge boasts the oldest inn in Yorkshire, The Crown, was the site of a Roman fort and the capital of the Wensleydale forest in Norman times.  Bainbridge has two shops and a service station and nearby Hawes and Leyburn offer excellent shopping facilities.

Upper Wensleydale offers a wealth of holiday opportunities including walking, cycling, family entertainment, historic sites, excellent food and drink outlets  and natural beauty.

Although over 200 years old, the Old Dame School has recently been fully modernised whilst maintaining the quaint charm of a traditional dales cottage.  The accommodation sleeps 4 and comprises master bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom, twin bedroom with views over the village green, second bathroom, cosy living room with wood-burning stove and beamed ceiling, large dining room and separate fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge, ceramic induction hob and electric oven.  The house is centrally heated.  Old Dame School has been tastefully renovated to maintain its traditional character including stone flagged floors and beamed ceilings to all the ground floor.  The TV has Sky and the dales cottage has guest high-speed Wi-Fi.
